After being reported in the Department of Torodi and the Dosso region (RECA, 2016), S. frugiperda continues its explosive spread and has been reported in several areas of Niger where damage has been reported. This propagation seems to continue even in the dry season on the irrigated crops of off-season because the insect observes no stoppage of development in its cycle as the conditions are favorable.
