Hosted by the Republic of Benin and held under the patronage of the Commissions of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA), the 33rd RPCA annual meeting brings together the region’s key food and nutrition security stakeholders.

RPCA Members will review provisional results of the 2017-18 agro-pastoral campaign and analyse the food and nutrition situation. This year’s thematic focus is placed on innovative and territorial approaches to food and nutrition security recognising the need to tailor policy responses to local contexts and challenges. The 5-year anniversary of the Global Alliance for Resilience (AGIR) offers a timely opportunity to seek renewed political engagement in AGIR.

The Permanent Interstate Committee for Drought Control in the Sahel (CILSS) and the Sahel and West Africa Club Secretariat (SWAC/OECD) are organising the meeting. This event is part of the 2017 Sahel and West Africa Week, the yearly gathering of Sahel and West Africa Club Members and its partners.
