The second side event held during the Committee on World Food Security (Rome, 7-11 October), The role of family farmers in providing a sustainable response to food security needs (11 October, Iran Room), was co-organized by FAO, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT), and the World Farmers’ Organisation (WFO) with the participation of the European Union.
These organizations joined forces to discuss the important role played by family farming around the world in responding with sustainable solutions to the challenges posed by food insecurity.
