Meeting on the Program implementation of ProFAB , 9-11 December 2014, Lome, Togo

aims to accelerate the implementation of the region’s economic policies: the Trade Liberalisation Scheme and the Customs Union of the Economic Community of West African States which will come into force as of 1 January, 2015.

It is based on a strong collaboration between stakeholders since the holding, in Accra, in January 2013, of the Regional conference on the free movement of agricultural products in West Africa. The consultations were facilitated by HUB RURAL with USAID funding and ECOWAS and UEMOA leadership.

The aims of this meeting are : i) to share information on the program’s purpose and scope, ii) to finalize the first year activities planning iii) identify et precise the work of each member.

The participants are the stakeholders in the program, including regional integration (ECOWAS and UEMOA) and technical cooperation institutions (CILSS) socio-professional and civil society organisations (ROPPA, RBM, APESS, WAWA, WILDAF, POSCAO), private sector organisations (COFENABEVI, UEFOA, ROAC, NANTS, AFEEX, RECAO, Borderless Alliance, ENDA CACID) and RESIMAO/WAMIS-NET
