The workshop objective is to create the conditions for speedily reviving the implementation of NAIPs by taking into account the guidelines of regional programmes/initiatives and integrating emerging issues for agricultural and rural development in the unifying framework of the Zero Hunger initiative supported by the ECOWAS to expedite the ECOWAP/CAADP process.
Specifically, the aim is to:
Evaluate the implementation of NAIPs in all countries;
Upgrade knowledge about the state of progress of the RAIP and its prospects;
Review emerging issues in agricultural and rural development in the pursuit of sustainable food security for all and poverty reduction;
Identify conditions that allow effective relaunch and acceleration of the implementation of NAIPs, reinforced with the integration of such issues and regional programmes and initiatives
Define ways of developing systems for monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of NAIPs.
